Cosy cottage close to the harbour in Seahouses.
Situated adjacent to the harbour in Seahouses only 10 metres from the sea, The Coracle has recently undergone a complete restoration. The exposed stone walls and original cast iron range help to make this a cosy romantic retreat to return to after a long day exploring the rich history of Northumberland's Heritage Coast. Seahouses is a popular holiday destination 3 miles south of Bamburgh, famous for its magnificent castle, and opposite the Farne Islands which lie 2 miles offshore. The Farnes are noted for their seabird and grey seal colonies and in 1838 became focus of worldwide attention when the Victorian heroine Grace Darling and her father rescued the survivors of
the S.S. Forfarshire wrecked on the outer Farnes. Colourful boats sail frequently during the summer months taking visitors out to the islands for first hand experience of nesting Kittiwakes, comical Puffins and whiskery faced grey seals. Fishing, walking, golf and sailing available locally.
